The Magical Mystical Mind of a Visionary Artist. What began as an unexplainable, undeniable drive to draw at the age of 4, has propelled Robert Lyn Nelson into a very elite minority of distinguished artists. Artists who defy categorization; having bodies of work encompassing all styles of painting and sculpture. Nelson received worldwide acclaim fo pioneering the Modern Marine Art Movement with his painting “Two Worlds” in 1979. RLN launched a new genre of artistic expression. Robert Lyn Nelson has dedicated his life to building concern and inspiring a call-to-action to protect nature and its creatures through his art. As one of the founders and largest private donors of the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation, Nelson with Jean-Michael Cousteau received NOAA’s Environmental Hero Award. Presented by then Vice President Al Gore, RLN’s endeavors were recognized. In 2001, Nelson became the youngest artist in history featured in a solo exhibition at the Smithsonian Institute which showcased his versatility and mastery.
