Drums of the Pacific Luau

The “Drums of the Pacific” Lu‘au at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa (a Tihati Production) begins with a lei greeting and mai tai (or fruit punch) while musicians and hula dancers welcome you. An open bar is included in your ticket price and available throughout the evening. The sound of the conch shell, the beating of the drums, and the echoes of the Hawaiian chant signal the start of the show along with an impressive torch lighting and imu ceremony—the unveiling of the main dish, Kalua Pua’a. You will enjoy a generous all-you-can-eat buffet offering the exotic flavors of Hawaiian cuisine including Kalua Pork, Huli Huli Chicken, Island Style Fish, Vegetables Makamaka, Tropical Fruits Anuenue, Lomi Lomi Salmon, Pacific Ahi Poke, Tossed Green Salad, and Poi (taro). The lavish dessert bar features Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cream Brownie, Haupia with Toasted Coconut, Pineapple Cake and Bread Pudding. Children’s buffet options and gluten-free choices are also available.

The performance begins with a fashion show featuring the exotic pareaus (sarong) worn in creative styles and you are invited on stage for a hula lesson should you wish to participate. Now you can sit back as the Drums of the Pacific Lu’au takes you on a journey through the islands of Polynesia, including old Hawai‘i, Tonga, Tahiti, Rarotonga, Samoa, Tuamotus, and New Zealand, concluding with an award-winning three-man fire knife dance finale. Crafters of traditional arts are available throughout the evening for the perfect authentic souvenir. For reservations, call (808) 667-4727 or visit
